The Mosaic Initiative funds Recovery Operations through our partnership with Transforming Lives Foundation, a grassroots nonprofit organization in Mumbai, India. Currently, we are our partner’s sole source of funding for these operations. We are incredibly proud of this unique partnership and the Transforming Lives Foundation’s dedication and passion for the survivors we serve.
OUR STRATEGY - COLLABORATION
While two separate organizations, we consider ourselves a part of one team. Collaboration is the very heartbeat of The Mosaic Initiative, we believe that collaborative efforts with local, established organizations are imperative to effectively combat sex trafficking cross-culturally. We seek to work alongside established organizations that have the expertise, cultural perspectives, and unique positions to serve others in their community. Rather than forming The Mosaic Initiative as a nonprofit in each country we wish to serve, we find local partnerships more effective. This collaborative framework ultimately allows for a wider impact for all parties involved, fostering support and global community as we work together toward our shared vision of a slavery-free world.
Our partners conduct undercover investigations to identify victims and gather evidence against traffickers. This information is used to build cases, leading to legal charges and the disruption of exploitation cycles. With sufficient evidence, raids are coordinated with local law enforcement, typically the Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force, to rescue survivors and arrest traffickers.
Survivors receive necessary support for recovery. Minors are placed in therapeutic shelter homes, while adult survivors choose between similar facilities or returning to their families, if safe. Our partners maintain contact and provide ongoing holistic support throughout their recovery journey.
